1. Scope and Contact

This policy applies to GifLab for iOS and iPadOS, including its screen-recording extension. Yodabi is the developer responsible for the app. For privacy questions or requests, contact yodabisp@gmail.com. The Android app has a separate privacy policy.

2. Media and Local App Data

3. Camera, Microphone, and Screen Recording

Camera access is used when you choose to record a clip. Apple's camera interface may also request microphone access and include sound in that source video. GIF exports are silent.

Screen recording starts through Apple's ReplayKit interface after you choose to record. It can capture content visible on your screen, including content from other apps. The GifLab screen-recording extension saves video frames in shared storage on your device for import into GifLab; it does not broadcast them to a server and discards audio samples. The app does not enable microphone capture for screen recordings.

You can stop a screen recording using the system recording controls. Avoid recording information you do not want in your output. Camera and microphone permissions can be changed in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

4. Saving and Sharing

Saving an export to Photos requests add-only permission when needed. Importing through the system Photos picker does not give GifLab unrestricted access to your photo library.

GifLab passes an export to another app, storage provider, or person when you use the system share sheet or choose a save destination. That recipient's privacy practices apply. A destination such as iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, or another cloud provider may synchronize files according to your settings.

5. Google Ads and Privacy Choices

The free, ad-supported version uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads) and Google's User Messaging Platform to display ads and manage privacy choices. GifLab checks the provider's consent state before requesting ads and displays privacy messages when required.

Google's advertising SDK may collect an IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, other app interactions, crash reports, and performance diagnostics. Google uses advertising-related information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and operate and improve its services. See Google's iOS SDK data disclosure and how Google uses information from partner apps.

Consent choices and related technical information are processed to determine and remember the privacy options that apply to you. Available options depend on your region and the provider's requirements. You can reopen available advertising privacy choices in GifLab's Info screen.

iOS separately asks for permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites. You can decline or change this permission in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Declining does not prevent editing or exporting. It also does not mean that all advertising-related data processing stops: contextual or limited ads can still involve network, measurement, or fraud-prevention data, subject to your choices and applicable requirements.

GifLab does not provide your editing media to advertisers. Verified owners of the lifetime Pro purchase do not see ads. Google's handling of data, including retention and international processing, is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Apple Purchases, Updates, and Diagnostics

The optional one-time lifetime Pro purchase, which unlocks Pro tools and removes ads, uses Apple's StoreKit. Apple handles payment and provides signed purchase and entitlement information so GifLab can enable, restore, or revoke Pro access. GifLab does not receive your payment-card details.

App update checks contact Apple's public App Store lookup service with GifLab's bundle identifier and, when available, the storefront country. Like other internet requests, these requests expose standard network information such as your IP address to the receiving service.

Ratings use Apple's App Store prompt. GifLab does not learn whether you submit a rating or review. Apple may process diagnostics according to your device's analytics-sharing settings. See Apple's Privacy Policy and App Store & Privacy.

7. Contacting Us

If you email us, we receive the address you use and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate issues you report. Please avoid sending sensitive media unless it is necessary for your request. Opening the app's email action does not send a message automatically.

8. Retention, Backups, and Security

Local projects and library items remain until you delete them or delete the app. Temporary import and render files are cleaned up as workflows finish where possible; interrupted work can retain files for recovery. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading the app can retain data.

Exports in Photos, Files, other apps, and backups remain until you remove them there. Some app data may be included in device or iCloud backups under Apple's rules and your settings. GifLab does not run a separate cloud-backup service.

GifLab relies on the iOS sandbox and system file protection. It does not add separate app-level encryption. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device and any exports or backups you create.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request, follow up on related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. You can request its deletion using the contact address above. Apple and Google manage data held by their services under their own retention policies; deleting GifLab does not automatically delete that data.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can decline media selection or recording, change system permissions, delete local projects and exports, and manage the advertising privacy options available in Info. These choices do not require a GifLab account.

Where applicable law provides these rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us about information we hold; for data held by Apple or Google, use their linked privacy controls or contact them directly.

Where consent is required for advertising or tracking, the relevant consent and system-permission choices apply. We use information you send in a support request to provide the help you requested and, where applicable, on the basis of our legitimate interest in resolving app issues. Information may also be retained when necessary to comply with law.

Some privacy laws treat advertising-related disclosures as a sale or sharing of personal information or as targeted advertising. Where applicable, use the opt-out choices presented in the app's advertising privacy controls or contact us to make a request. GifLab does not sell your media files.

10. Children's Privacy

GifLab is a general-purpose creative utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not use an account or age-verification system. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address the request.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current version and its last-updated date will be available on this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or release notes.
