Grow Guerrilla Daily Challenges: Daily Seed, Rush Hour and Boss Gauntlet
How the Grow Guerrilla Daily Seed, Rush Hour and Boss Gauntlet work — attempts, strains, Gold Bud multipliers — and a strategy for each, plus daily missions.
The Daily tab in Grow Guerrilla holds three limited challenges that reset every day at midnight UTC: the Daily Seed, Rush Hour and the Boss Gauntlet. They pay more Gold Bud than a normal Chapter 1 season, they never burn bus fuel, and every player in the world gets the same challenge on the same day. This guide covers the rules they share, how each one is built, and how to play it.

Rules all three challenges share
- The strain is picked for you. Each mode assigns a strain for the day, rotating through all six — including ones you haven't unlocked. The three modes are offset so they never share a strain on the same day. Your weapon is the only loadout choice.
- Same seed for everyone. Each mode's season is generated from the date, so the stage layout, weather and bosses are the same for every player that day.
- Always Chapter 1 difficulty. Dailies ignore your chapter selection and run on the base difficulty curve, which keeps the shared seed fair.
- Your permanent upgrades still count. Grow House perks, Armory levels and your equipped crew member all apply.
- No fuel, limited attempts, no revive. Attempts are capped per day instead (three, two and one), and if the crop goes down, it stays down.
- The full boss roster. Bosses you haven't unlocked can appear, so a daily is often your first look at one.
The Rain Check upgrade in the Grow House's Quality of Life tab (from Farmer Level 9) adds one extra attempt per level to every challenge, up to two.
The three modes compared
| Daily Seed | Rush Hour | Boss Gauntlet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Attempts per day | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| Stages | 12 (8 on Autoflower days) | 6 | 3 bosses |
| Gold Bud harvest | +25% | ×1.5 | ×2 |
| Shops | Yes | No | No |
| Relics | Elite stages + boss | Two elite stages + boss | One after every boss |
| Twist | None — the classic season | Faster spawns, plants 20% weaker, +25% buds | Bosses only, back to back |
The Gold Bud multipliers apply instead of a chapter multiplier, not on top of one. A normal season pays ×1.5 in Dust Valley up to ×3.5 in Zion Heights, so once you're deep into the chapters a daily isn't automatically your best-paying run. What it is, always, is a run that costs no fuel at a difficulty you can probably handle.
Daily Seed: the classic, three tries
The Daily Seed is a normal season with today's strain: 12 stages, elite relics at stages 4 and 8, shops after stages 3, 6, 9 and 11, and a boss at the end. On a day when the strain is Autoflower, it's an 8-stage season instead.
The key detail: the whole season plan — every stage's enemy mix, the weather modifiers and the boss — is rolled from the seed before you start. That means it's identical on all three attempts.
- Treat attempt one as a scouting run. Play normally, but note which stages roll nasty modifiers (Dry Season, Searchlights, stacked weather late) and which boss waits at stage 12.
- Pick your gun for the boss. On attempt two you know what's coming. A stream gun for The Mothership, splash for the Crop-Duster Ace or the Federal Harvester — our bosses guide has the details.
- Plan your shop buys. If you know stage 10 rolls Dry Season, the stage-9 shop heal is worth more than a skill.
Tip: today's strain might be one you've never played. Skim its section in our strains guide first — a Sativa run played like an Indica run wastes the signature.
Rush Hour: six stages, no shops
Rush Hour compresses a season into six stages that jump along the difficulty curve two stages at a time, so your second stage plays like stage 4 and your fourth like stage 8. Those two are elite stages, so you still get two guaranteed relics plus the boss, but only five drafts before the boss and no shops at all. Waves spawn faster, plants have 20% less health, and buds pay 25% more.
- No shops means no heals or replants. Plants still heal between stages, but a destroyed plant is gone unless you draft Rewind or Deep Roots or get Second Wind. Weight your drafts toward defense more than usual.
- Buds only buy rerolls. Unspent buds convert to a little Gold Bud at the end, but a 12-bud reroll costs very little of that. If a draft doesn't help, reroll it.
- Skip shop skills. Bulk Buyer is a dead pick here, and economy skills like Banker or Fat Stacks have very little time to pay off.
- Start every stage cold. With faster spawns, waves overlap sooner; vent between stages so you're never mid-gauge when the next one starts.
Boss Gauntlet: three bosses, one shot
The Gauntlet is three season bosses back to back, drawn from all five without repeats. There are no regular waves and no weather. The bosses sit at the difficulty of stages 4, 8 and 12, so they get tougher: The Chief's Gunship, for example, would have about 2,840 HP as the first boss and 5,080 as the last. You get a relic and a draft after each boss, but no shops, and only one attempt per day.
The trap is the first fight. You walk in with no drafted skills and no relics — the first draft only comes after the first boss dies — so your Grow House upgrades and your gun's Armory level are carrying you. That makes it the mode where investment shows most clearly.
- Bring your best-upgraded gun, even if another gun suits today's strain better on paper.
- Don't waste heat on entrances. Every boss is armored until it arrives. Let the gun cool during each entrance.
- Draft for boss fights. Airhorn and Time Warp are excellent here; economy skills are close to useless, since buds only come from bosses and their reinforcements.
- Learn the roster first. With one attempt, you can't scout. If you've only fought The Chief's Gunship, read up on the other four before you start.
Missions, streaks and a daily routine
Dailies feed the mission system, which runs alongside them. Each day you get three daily missions (one easy, one medium, one hard) and each week three weekly ones. "Play 2 Daily Challenges" shows up in the daily pool and "Play 6 Daily Challenges" in the weekly pool, so the challenges often pay twice. Mission rewards don't arrive automatically: open Missions from the loadout header to claim them, and clearing all three dailies pays a bonus that grows with your daily streak, up to double at seven days.
A routine that fits a short session:
- Open the game and collect. Claim the stash (it fills for up to eight hours while you're away) and any finished missions.
- Spend your fuel on normal seasons in your current chapter.
- Play the dailies when the tank is empty. They don't use fuel, so they turn waiting time into Gold Bud.
- Gauntlet last, when you're warmed up — it's your only attempt.

Frequently asked questions
When do Grow Guerrilla daily challenges reset?
At midnight UTC. Attempts, the day's strains and the seeds all roll over at the same time, which may be in the middle of your local day.
Do daily challenges use fuel?
No. Normal seasons burn one can of bus fuel each; Daily Challenges only use their own daily attempts.
Can I revive in a daily challenge?
No. Revives are never offered in Daily Challenges, which keeps the shared seed fair for everyone.
Is the Daily Seed the same for everyone?
Yes. Every player gets the same stages, weather and boss on a given day, so you can compare runs with friends. More about the game is on the Grow Guerrilla page.
